To prepare your home for hard surface cleaning, clear the work area. Your family can help!

So you’ve made your Pro-Care Stone Cleaning or Tile Cleaning appointment. Our technicians look forward to providing you with an outstanding service experience. In the meantime, you may be wondering how best to prepare your home for hard surface cleaning.  Follow these four easy steps and you’ll ensure the most efficient and effective cleaning outcomes.

Reserve the Area for Your Cleaning Appointment.

When our technicians can move freely and work without interruption, they get the best results. One key step to prepare your home for hard surface cleaning is to notify those in your household when to expect our arrival. For safety and convenience, please be sure friends and family stay clear of the rooms to be serviced.

Professional cleaning can be disruptive, noisy and messy. During your appointment, the work area must be a kid and pet free zone. We advise clients put their pets in a safe, quiet place, where service won’t disturb them. Do keep an extra close eye on little ones while Pro-Care technicians are in your home. PLEASE avoid scheduling any other service companies while we are on-site. If there are professionals who must overlap our cleaning appointment, it is important to share the guidelines covered here.

Prepare Your Home by Making Sure your Floor is Fully Accessible for Cleaning.

Many hard-surface zones are furnished with area rugs and other items. Prepare your home for hard surface cleaning by moving these furnishings to a safe place so techs can do their work.As a client, you expect the professionals to complete your cleaning  service in a timely way. To help Pro-Care providers move efficiently and make the most of your appointment, please prepare your home for hard surface cleaning. Begin by clearing the project area of loose personal belongings. Removing clothing, toys, electronics, etc will insure our service is efficient.

Please secure all breakables and move small furnishings such as dining room chairs, ottomans, floor lamps, plants or accent tables. That will allow us to clean under these items before the client returns them to their designated areas. Remember Pro-Care techs cannot move computer equipment, china cabinets, sectional sofas, entertainment centers, antique or fragile furniture. However, where sufficient room is available, we can clean tile or stone underneath such items or we can edge closely around the base of the largest pieces.

Lastly, we ask that any full-length draperies are pinned up at least 6 inches off the floor. Pinning up skirts on upholstered furniture also helps gives our team access to your tile or stone.

The Walk-Through is an Important Part of Preparation.

Please plan to be on site at the beginning of your cleaning appointment. That way you can examine the area with the technicians before work begins. Take this opportunity to share any special instructions about moving small furnishings. Point out concerns like weak legs, loose tops or previous repairs.

The pre-inspection also gives clients the chance to call attention to areas which may require special cleaning. Professionals count on their clients to point out discoloration, staining and etching that are of particular concern. It is a huge help when a homeowner identifies pre-existing chipping, gouges, cracks or other defects that the cleaning process cannot fix.

Plan Ahead for our Post-Service Pointers

Lastly, remember to set aside time for your hard-surface flooring to fully dry before resuming use. When possible we will set up air movers to improve drying time. As a safety precaution, please do not let your children or pets crawl or lie down on the cleaned floor while wet or run across damp hard surface flooring until completely dry. Now, just enjoy your newly cleaned tile or stone floor!
